August 15, 2022 - After being sworn into office in January, there are two things I will immediately implement in the Recorder's office.

1) Team meetings. We will decide, as a team, the frequency of these. We will start out doing quick checkpoint meetings every morning as a team (aka whiteboard meetings, stand-up meetings, etc). In addition, we will have longer team meetings either bi-weekly or monthly to cover broader topics than we would cover in our morning checkpoints.

2) One-on-one (1:1) meetings between myself and each employee. We will also decide the frequency of these as a team. I feel these are an important way to go over individual goals as needed and address any concerns or questions the employee may have. It’s important for a leader to stay in tune with what is going on with each of their employees.

I have put together a Venn diagram to illustrate why I think each of these is important and why they are collectively important. I'm sure there are more that could be added. I hope this gives you more insight to the type of leader I will be as your next Dallas County Recorder. The leader and the environment they create will directly impact productivity and overall atmosphere in the office.

Adel Sweet Corn Festival this weekend

August 11, 2022 - Welcome to Adel!!!!! Tomorrow the festivities begin; hope to see many of you tomorrow night or Saturday!!!

Three months to go!

August 8, 2022 - Happy Monday Dallas County!!!! Today is August 8....that means we are just THREE short months away from election day! That also means you have just three months to get to know your candidates.

Here's a little fact about me: I have been registered to vote in Dallas County since I signed up in my ADM Government class my senior year back in the 90's. Since then, I have taken my right to vote at every level very seriously.

I hope everyone has a great week and I hope to see many of you on Saturday at the Adel Sweet Corn Fest!

August 6, 2022 - As a leader, I already have a lot of ideas on how the Recorder’s office could be run to best serve the needs of Dallas County. However, it’s not just my ideas that matter. When you are a true leader, you foster an environment where ideas flow. Collaboration is key in a team environment, and that’s how it will be in the Recorder’s office under my leadership. One of us might have an idea, and that idea spurs an idea in someone else, and so on. Empowering employees so they feel like they have a voice, and then truly listening when they use that voice, is something I take very seriously.

JULY 30, 2022

July Dallas Co. GOP meeting

July 28, 2022 - Packed house at the DCGOP meeting tonight!

July 27, 2022 - The person I am (past and present) directly reflects the person I will be as your Recorder (future).

I am a lifelong resident of Dallas County. A Dallas County hometown girl. My roots are here and this is where I will stay. Many of you know me. Some of you do not. If not, I hope you will either look over my past posts or let me know if you have any questions about me.

I am real. I am not a politician and I never will be. I vow to never change. It has never mattered to me what title or position anyone (or myself) holds, I have always treated everyone the same. I promise to continue that when elected.

My #1 reason for running is simple. I want to serve the wonderful people in this county that I love. It’s not about anything else for me. It’s about the people and this county.

On November 8, vote for Dallas County roots and a positive future for Dallas County. Vote for someone who best reflects the qualities of a person you want in office.

Happy Birthday Dad!

July 26, 2022 - Wishing my Dad a very Happy Birthday today! Hope he has a wonderful day; I appreciate him and his support!!

July 23, 2022 - Transparency in government is something that is VERY important to me. Transparency isn't just a task or obligation, it's an expectation the voters of Dallas County hold high.

I promise that as your next Dallas County Recorder, I will be transparent.

Let me give you one small example, outside of the numerous examples I could give from throughout my career. One thing I did right away when I announced my candidacy (in Feb 2021) was to file my Statement of Organization with the Ethics Board so I could start filing campaign reports. It wasn’t a question of whether I would bring in or spend $1000 that first reporting period. What was important to me was that I opened that transparency door from the very beginning. If I am asking for money for my campaign, it was automatic for me to sign up with the Ethics Board. It’s a small example, but when it comes to transparency and ethics, no act should be considered too small.

I vow to always be transparent, ethical, and keep the line of communication open. I have always believed that more information than necessary is better than not enough. I will stick to that belief as Recorder.

988 number now live

July 16, 2022 - As an advocate for mental health and suicide prevention, I wanted to remind you that today the new 988 number is live. Please do not hesitate to use it.

You matter.

You are loved.

July 12, 2022 - I wanted to share one of the really cool old books (housed by the Recorder’s office) shown today during the Board of Supervisors meeting. They will soon be deciding how to best preserve some of Dallas County’s oldest records, such as this one.

I would love to be a part of those decisions in the future as your Recorder.

Just a reminder that I have been attending the BOS meetings for months now. I show up, I pay attention to what’s going on in our county, and I will continue to do so when I am Recorder.

Fundraising Pitch

July 10, 2022 - There are just 5 days left in this reporting period. If anyone is interested and able, I would appreciate any support for this campaign.

I have closed my WinRed account (online donation site). I found out they are a horrible company to do business with, and I won’t give them a penny more or subject my donors to them.

If you would like to donate, you can write a check or Venmo - just contact me for info.

I appreciate everyone who has given to the good of this campaign so far.

On to November!!!!!

Happy 13th!

July 6, 2022 - I am officially mom to a teenager!!! Happy Birthday to my oldest daughter today!

I had her name picked out for a few years before we were blessed with her sweet spirit. Her first name is after my husband’s mom who passed away when he was 16; her middle name is after my grandma - and then she ended up being born on her birthday!

Happy Birthday sweet girl! Your mom loves you and is so proud of you. You have a sweet soul and it shines to everyone you meet.

Happy Independence Day!!

July 4, 2022 - Thank you Minburn, Perry, and Waukee!!

Three parades today, rain delays made for an interesting logistical mess. I just want to thank a local Dallas County business (they will know who they are if they see this) who let me jump in front of them at the Minburn parade. Because of them, I was able to make it in and out of Minburn and on to the next parade - just in time. I appreciate you and the fact that you were so nice about it. That’s the Dallas County I know and love.

Thank you to all of my awesome team members for showing up for me today. This is my favorite holiday, and everyone made it so much more special by taking the time to be there/support me today. As always, I appreciate all of you more than you know - and all of you who wanted to be there but couldn’t today!

Happy Birthday America!!!! I hope everyone had an amazing Independence Day.

Happy Birthday!

July 2, 2022 - Happy Birthday shout out to my husband today!
He was just two days shy of being a Bicentennial baby.
He has always supported me in everything I do and I appreciate him. He’s a great dad to our girls, and a great guy all the way around.
Happy Birthday, I hope you have a great day celebrating YOU!!!

New Iowa ATV/UTV law

July 1, 2022 - If you are an ATV/UTV owner (like me), you'll want to familiarize yourself with the new law taking effect today, July 1.
Here are a few key points from the bill:
*In order to ride your ATV/UTV on county and state roads, it must be registered with the DNR through your county Recorder's office.
*Driver must be 18, have a valid driver's license, and carry proof of insurance.
*Max speed must be 35mph.
*Cannot drive on 4 lane divided highways or interstates.
*Cities have the right to regulate the operation of ATV/UTV's within their own city limits.
*Cities cannot charge a fee for ATV/UTV use.
*This state law supersedes any county ordinances currently in place.

Redfield Parade

June 24, 2022 - Thank you Redfield!!!!!
What a great morning for the Redfield Old Settlers parade! A special thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day to be in the parade with me. I appreciate each and every one of you!!
Thank you for all of the kind comments along the route. When we get comments about such things as how many people we have in our group, it warms my heart.
I am energized and excited. I appreciate all of the support!!!

Full Day in Dallas County!

June 23, 2022 - This photo from tonight (credit to Treasurer Mitch Hambleton) sums up the day; just resting my legs after a busy day.

It was another beautiful day in Dallas County today, and I was lucky enough to see some of you TWICE today!! Once this morning for a DCGOP breakfast and then again tonight for the DCGOP annual picnic. Both events were great and had so many in attendance. Thanks to everyone who helped put the events on today, and everyone who came out to one or both events!!! Today was a full day; mostly full of great people I am blessed to know.

Yard signs can help you out in a pinch at outdoor events if you don’t have a chair or blanket handy…

Happy Father's Day

June 19, 2022 - Happy Father’s Day!!!

To my dad, my husband, my brothers, and all of the male role models in my life….thank you.

I remember when I was little, my dad wouldn’t get home from work until I was about to go to bed. He worked very hard for us. He is the one I have modeled my own career, work ethic, and independence after.

My dad and I just finished a major project together Friday. An 18 month home renovation project (actually more of a gut and rebuild job). It was a bucket list item for both of us, something we had wanted to do together for years. I can say it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life, but I wouldn’t trade the time with my dad, and all he taught me, for anything.

Thanks dad, for our crazy father/daughter adventures and for teaching me so much in life.

Tin Pig, Perry IA

June 15, 2022 - So much fun talking with some of you last night at the Tin Pig in Perry! Thanks to everyone who attended, to the DCGOP for hosting, and to the wonderful owner of the Tin Pig for your hospitality! I loved hearing his family’s story, and seeing the before/after pics of what they have done to this very cool building.

June 14, 2022

State GOP Convention

June 11, 2022 - Great to be at the 2022 Iowa Republican State Convention today with the other Dallas County delegates!!! Thank you all for being here today, and to those who congratulated me.

"Sign, sign, everywhere a sign"....

June 8, 2022 - Signs are down (besides a couple of barn signs that may be staying up for a bit)!!! If I missed any, please let me know. If I didn’t see one in your yard still, I assumed you wanted to keep it for November. If you want me to pick it up, just let me know!

Thank you to everyone who allowed me to put up a sign at their place. Means so much to me that you were willing to display your support for me!

June 7, 2022 - Thank you Dallas County!!!!
For so many years, I have been on the other side of campaigns. Today, it was so surreal seeing my name on the ballot and waiting for my own election results to come in.
Thank you to everyone who voted for me, stood up for me, put a yard or barn sign up for me, donated to my campaign, and everyone who was there for me during this whole process.
I love this county, I love the people of this county. Thank you for choosing me to be your Republican nominee for Dallas County Recorder.
On to November!!!
P.S. I’ll be around to pick up those signs tomorrow!

The day is here!!!

I voted!  I was #84 in our precinct.
Thank you to everyone who has called, emailed, texted, or messaged me in some way today to wish me well.  It has helped me get through the day awaiting election results tonight.

Election Eve

June 6, 2022 - Here we are, on Election Eve.
In 24 hours, the polls will be closed and we will all be awaiting the results. I have been trying to think of anything more I can tell you about myself right now. I can’t. I feel like I have given you, the voter, as much information as you need about me in order to make your decision in this Primary election. I hope you feel the same and I hope you will cast your vote for me tomorrow, if you haven’t already.
I would be honored to have your vote, and honored to be your Republican nominee for Dallas County Recorder in the November election.
Thank you, once again, to everyone who has supported me on this journey. I also appreciate those of you who have already started reaching out to tell me good luck tomorrow.
My heart is full.

June 5, 2022 - Two more sleeps!!!
I just wanted to once again thank these five Dallas County elected officials for being willing to endorse me in this Primary race. They know, without a doubt, that I am the most qualified candidate for this position and they are willing to stand up for me. I appreciate them and their support!

Last push!

June 4, 2022 - Last campaign push this weekend before the Primary on Tuesday!

Van Meter Raccoon River parade this morning and then a stop at the Sheriff’s car show on the courthouse square.

I am blessed. Blessed with the absolute best people in my life. I know there were more who wanted to be there today for the parade and couldn’t. I appreciate all of you. Thank you all for being there for me on this campaign journey. I could not do this without all of you; your encouraging words, hugs, and overall support.

Three days left…..

Radio Interviews

June 2, 2022 - Here is the link to our radio interviews. County Recorder candidates start with me at ~28:31.

Prior to Recorder, they start with House District 28 Democrat candidates, then Dallas County Treasurer candidates (Mitch Hambleton).

Thank you to Dustin and Raccoon Valley Radio for inviting us in and airing these.

My brothers

June 1, 2022 - “This little sister is protected by two big brothers.”
Meet my big brothers.
Some of you may already know them. Or you may recognize my oldest brother on the right from the various Adel grocery stores over the last 36 years. Both of my brothers graduated from Adel in the 80’s, then me in the 90’s. No giving away our ages, but they are older and wiser. My brothers and I love our rural Dallas County roots. We each have so many memories of growing up here.
They are two of my best friends. I have always looked up to them and am proud to be their little sister. Thank you, my brothers, for always cheering me on, for teaching me so many things over the years, and most of all, for loving me unconditionally.
I am Experienced. Dedicated. Homegrown. I can’t wait to serve my home county as your next Dallas County Recorder.
***I had mentioned in a speech last week that candidate radio interviews would be released today, but that was changed to tomorrow, so I thought I would introduce you to more of my family today instead.***

Leadership Characteristics

May 31, 2022 - The countdown to the Primary is really on now! One week to go!!!

I saw this list today on a leadership page I follow, and I felt like it really describes the type of leader the Recorder’s office needs. I also believe that I am that leader, and I hope you all agree.

As your next Dallas County Recorder, I will be focused on the work there is to be done, using these 11 points daily.

Memorial Day

May 30, 2022 - Two excellent videos and I couldn’t choose which one to post so here are the links to both. The first one is an abbreviated version (real images) of the second (animated). I encourage all of us to take a few minutes today and watch either one or both. Show your kids and grandkids what today is all about.

I am forever grateful for those who gave their lives for all of us and the freedoms we enjoy. I will never forget.

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

May 29, 2022 - My parents were married 58 years ago today. 58 years, 4 kids, 9 grandkids, and 2 (almost 3) great-grandkids. My parents came to Iowa from Wyoming when my dad took a job here 56 years ago out of college - and they decided to make this their forever home. I’m so thankful for my parents and all they have done for me in my life. Not to mention how lucky my girls are to have them as grandparents (who let them get away with almost anything ).

My dad got my mom a corsage to wear to church today; four small roses, one for each of us kids.

Happy 58th Anniversary Mom and Dad!!! I love you!

DCGOP May Meeting

May 26, 2022 - Thank you to everyone who attended the DCGOP meeting tonight, and those who stayed after the meeting to listen to candidate speeches.

A special heartfelt thank you to everyone who said to me tonight, “I already voted for you”. I appreciate those words more than you’ll ever know.

Hunt 'em up!

May 22, 2022 - I got my pheasant mount back today from my December hunt. I thought this one was mount-worthy… first melanistic pheasant.

Adel Founders Day Celebration

May 21, 2022 - It was fun being on the square for the Adel 175th birthday panoramic photo today!  Happy Birthday to my hometown!

Primary Ballot

May 19, 2022 - Thank you to everyone who has voted so far in the Primary!!!
Here's a sample of what your ballot should look like for Dallas County Recorder. In some precincts my name is first, in some I am second. Regardless, please fill in that little oval next to ReNae Arnold!
If you have any questions about me before you cast your vote, please do not hesitate to reach out. This race is way too important. Please be an informed voter!

Thank you Dallas County!!!

Early Voting Begins!!

May 18, 2022 - Today!!!! Voting for the June 7 Primary begins!!! Please help me take this campaign to November!
Vote ReNae Arnold for Dallas County Recorder!!!
Thank you so much for your support!

Junior Achievement

May 17, 2022 - Preparing for my last lesson tomorrow of Junior Achievement in my daughter’s class. I missed a couple of years worth of teaching JA due to Covid protocols, but I have loved having it back this year and being able to teach it.

My daughter’s Certificate of Achievement has a special signature on it.

National Police Week

May 16, 2022 - “Remembering the fallen, honoring those who serve.”

If you know me already, you know how much respect I have for law enforcement. There really are no adequate words to express enough appreciation to those who serve, and those who have served.

Thank you, to you and your families, for so selflessly serving all of us.

Career "references"

May 15, 2022 - In my career, I have worked with so many people over the years. People from all over the world, from all different backgrounds and nationalities. It is important to me that as you vote very soon for Recorder, that you know as much about me as possible. Besides me telling you things about myself, the best way for you to know is by hearing from others. I have asked a few people to give me “references” that may help you learn more about me. I appreciate those who were willing and anxious to tell the voters about me. I wouldn’t be here today without all of these people. They have all helped me grow, professionally and personally, and have helped me become who I am today.

ReNae is highly competent in multi-tasking, deadline management and troubleshooting with innovative solutions affecting her team. She leads by example, earning the respect of those working with her.

ReNae is simply amazing. She is a hard-worker, kind-hearted, reliable, intelligent, and always brightens a room when she enters.

I work with her at [company name removed out of respect to my employer] for so many years smartest woman. I sure learn so much from her.

ReNae is someone I could always count on for getting the job done right and whenever needed. She is a true professional in all she does.

ReNae is a wonderful, caring person in all aspects of her life, personal and professional. She wants the very best and strives for just that! ReNae is reliable and someone I was happy to always have on my team.

She has a loving and caring spirit as shown with her family and many friends through the years.

I have been fortunate to work closely with ReNae for the past few years. She has a strong moral compass that guides her daily actions and decision making. She is reliable, consistent, honest, displays a high level of integrity, will speak up when tough conversations are needed and is committed to doing the right thing. ReNae usually has a bright smile to share, which goes along well with her positive, calm, 'can-do' approach to things. She is motivated, focused, and chooses to be an active participant in whatever task or challenge she or the team faces. Most importantly, she is a great example of a true team player who treats people like PEOPLE and shows with her words and actions that she truly cares about them. She listens to understand, she is thoughtful and considerate, and she remains open to different ideas and learning about perspectives that differ from hers. I couldn't ask for a better co-worker than ReNae!

May 14, 2022 - So thankful for this beautiful county and the wonderful people who live here!!!

DCGOP Round Up

May 10, 2022 - Great night in Perry at the Hotel Pattee!!! Thank you to the DCGOP for hosting and to everyone who attended the Round Up.
A special thank you to County Attorney Sinnard for his very kind comments about me. I am very honored and humbled to have his support.
I really liked the quote in the meeting room we were in, “When you drink from the well, remember the well-digger”. It made me think of all of the people who have helped me get to where I am today, and where I will hopefully be in the near future. I promise to never forget. I am so thankful.

Happy Mother's Day!

May 8, 2022 - Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms and every woman who may have a motherly role in our lives!!

I’m so thankful for my mom and how she devoted her life to us kids. I have fond memories of her always being my “home room mom” in elementary and how some of the other kids would cling to her. Growing up, with me being the youngest sibling, my mom was basically my playmate. She then helped me navigate through those rough high school years, then college, and every up and down in life since then. She is my biggest cheerleader to this day. I appreciate her so much.

I never lived close enough to my grandmas to spend any time with them besides during the summers, so I am thankful for the time my girls have been able to spend with my mom.

Love you, mom.

Always and forever.

One month to go and SIGNS!!!

Signs are in!!!! So excited to see these pop up all over Dallas County. If you would like one and haven’t already sent me a message, please let me know. Yard signs will only be up for a few weeks. I promise they will be taken down the day after the Primary and we won’t put them back out until close to the General election. So you will only have to mow around them a few times….

Thank you so much for your support and help in getting my name out there. I appreciate all of you!!

Mental Health Awareness Month

May 2, 2022 - May is National Mental Health Awareness month.

Almost 4 years ago, I lost someone I loved very much to mental illness. That experience changed me (and many others) in so many ways. I know he is looking down on me and cheering me on, and for him, I will always be an advocate for mental health. We often overlook the need to keep our mental health in check. Mental health is just as important as physical health, in fact, they are intertwined.

Please remember: It's ok to not be ok.

And just in case no one told you today:

You are amazing.

You are special.

You are needed.

You are loved.

Dallas County Gun Show

May 1, 2022 - Great to be at the gun show at the Dallas County Fairgrounds this weekend!!! Nice to have this event right here in Adel. Now the question is, was I able to be there all weekend without buying anything?

April 23, 2022 - Sorry I missed seeing some of you at District Convention today. When they put the date out I knew I wouldn’t be able to make it as today is my youngest daughter’s birthday. Birthdays are special and I love to celebrate them!

I will see you at State Convention on June 11, just a few days after the Primary!

Happy Birthday, baby girl.

Poll workers needed!

April 21, 2022 - Dallas County poll worker opportunity!!! Great way to be involved in the political process!

Boat registrations due this year!  April 30th deadline!

April 18, 2022 - Here I am with one of my very favorite people, dreaming of warmer days (although maybe not as windy!), and stopping by to remind you that boat registrations are due by April 30!

Call the very friendly Dallas County Recorder’s office staff at 515-993-5804 to set up an appointment time that is convenient for you! Appointments make better use of your very precious time (you are in and out quickly - no waiting in line!) and they also make the office run more efficiently (structure = productivity). Transactions requiring appointments are a very small fraction of what the Recorder’s office does. A majority of what the office does is online and time is needed each day to process those ever-increasing online transactions.

With the growth in Dallas County, running the Recorder’s office in the most efficient way is going to be key. As someone who has spent a lot of time working on process improvements in supply chain over the years, I am excited to evaluate this process in the office when I am Recorder (value stream map, anyone?!). I promise the taxpayers that we (the Recorder’s office) will keep the appointment process efficient and streamlined for all parties involved.

The Recorder’s office is, and always will be, easily accessible to you - the taxpayer of Dallas County. As I have said before, the Recorder’s office is already known for exceptional customer service, and it will continue under my leadership. They are a great team!

Now go make sure your boats are registered by April 30 and have a fun and safe boating season!

Happy Easter

April 17, 2022 - No politics today, just a wish from me to you for a Happy Easter. I hope each of you has a wonderful and blessed day.

Iowa Veterans Cemetery

April 15, 2022 - Today, my oldest daughter’s grade went to the Iowa Veterans Cemetery to help clean up the grounds. What a wonderful experience and I loved hearing my daughter talk about it. Thank you to her school for allowing the kids this opportunity.
We are blessed to have this hallowed ground in beautiful Dallas County. I remember being at the dedication back in July of 2008, and what an honor it was, and is, for Dallas County (thanks to the donors of the land who made it possible!).
I take the opportunity to drive my girls through the grounds once in a while, and the talks we have on those drives are priceless. It’s just one small way to teach them about our great country and those who have served and fought for our freedoms.

April 13, 2022 - I wanted to post this for anyone who wasn't able to make it last night to the forum. We submitted biographies and these are the points that the DCGOP took from my bio and had on the screen while I was speaking.

How can you help me win on June 7?
*Sign locations;
*Campaign contributions to help with materials (even being very fiscally conservative with what I am doing, everything is so expensive!);
*Spread the word on how important it is to vote in the June 7 Primary, either by absentee ballot or in person.

As I said at the end of my speech last night, my heart is in this race for all of the right reasons. I would not be willing to leave my career and everything I have built there if I was not serious about this race. New challenges and goals are a good thing. I am ready, willing, and able to serve the taxpayers of Dallas County.

If you have any questions about me, about my experience, or if you have any feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you all so much for your support.  Thank you to the DCGOP for putting on this event.

April 3, 2022 - I have spent a lot of time on customer service in my career. For years, one of my responsibilities was receiving all of the incoming customer concerns for my focus area in supply chain.

This means a lot of time spent working with various teams for resolutions, doing root cause analysis, analyzing what is best for the customer, leading change of processes if necessary, and responding back to the customer with the solution.

The Recorder’s office is already known for excellent customer service. The employees are wonderful and they sincerely care about every person they serve. Under my leadership, that will continue and I will become part of their caring team. We will always promise that quality will not decrease as quantity increases year over year.

FY23 County Budget Public Hearing

March 29, 2022 - Public hearing tonight for the FY23 county budget.

March DCGOP Meeting

March 24, 2022 - I like to be different sometimes and make things more interesting. Tonight at the DCGOP meeting, I switched it up and asked the crowd the following questions and had them shout the answers back to me:

• Which county was I born and raised in?
• Which college did I go to?
• How long have I worked in supply chain?
• Am I a fiscal conservative?
• How many kids do I have?
• Yes/no: Can you name at least 2 Dallas County elected officials who have endorsed me?

If you know the answers to any of these questions, I have done my job over the last 13 months since announcing my candidacy. I believe running for county office is a little bit different than a lot of other offices at the state or federal level. We won’t be writing or voting on laws, so our races are different. That’s why, I believe, you should get to know the person running on a more professional or even personal level. It’s really more like a job interview.

I hope you will consider attending the candidate forum on April 12. Please do your homework and make an informed vote on June 7.

Happy Ag Week!!

March 21, 2022 - Thank you to all farmers and ag workers for all you do to “feed the world”!

My career has been in the ag industry. From harvest to shipping (export and domestic) and everything in between. Meeting people from all over the world - whether it be farmers, sales reps, agronomists, warehouse operators, seed conditioners, the list goes on and on - has been the most rewarding experience.

Thank you all for everything you do!

Words that I live by.

Being a leader and mentor is what I have been to many in my career, and I will continue to be the same in the Dallas County Recorder’s office.

DCGOP 2022 Convention

March 12, 2022 - It was great to have an opportunity to speak at the Dallas County Republican convention this morning! I appreciate all of the comments and well wishes after my speech. I would also like to publicly thank Recorder Chad Airhart for his comments about me during his speech today.

Stay tuned for the next chapter in this race, but for now, here are a few excerpts from my speech this morning that I thought you might be interested in:

There is a song by Brooks and Dunn that starts out “I was raised off of rural route 3”. That is where my story begins, RR3 in Dallas County; way before the country roads had street names, and long before Hwy 6 was four lanes and making the trek to Des Moines was a treat for us as kids.

I am very tech savvy and I am a multi-tasker. I make decisions daily that have an impact on the bottom line of the business. Most importantly, I am a leader.

With my experience in politics, I know that endorsements in a Primary is a very rare occasion. That speaks volumes to me, as I hope it does to all of you. I am so grateful to each of these individuals who have thrown their support behind me; Sheriff Leonard, Representative Nordman, County Attorney Sinnard, Treasurer Hambleton, and Recorder Airhart. Thank you all for your confidence in me, and for standing up for the candidate you believe is most qualified for this position.

I am proud to have the support of employees within the Recorder’s office, which is also a very rare occasion in a Primary. I already know we would make a great team. We all know Dallas County is growing, and this office will have to keep up with the growth without compromising quality - and we will accomplish that.

I am a fiscal conservative, and I will continue to watch over your taxpayer dollars, just as Chad Airhart has done. If this gives you any indication of how fiscally conservative I am, I am the employee who works for a multi-billion dollar company, but who would always eat at In-and-Out burger for under $4 on my business trips to the west coast.

Please vote for me, ReNae Arnold, for Dallas County Recorder on June 7.

March 8, 2022

I am honored today to have the endorsement of current Dallas County Recorder, Chad Airhart. Chad has done great things during his tenure as Recorder. I will continue to build upon the foundation he has laid.

Thank you, Chad, for your service to the citizens of Dallas County, and thank you for your support!

"As Chad Airhart prepares to leave office at the end of this year, he has made a choice as to whom he wants to see succeed him as Recorder.

“I give my full endorsement to ReNae Arnold,” Airhart said unequivocally. “She is a lifelong Dallas County resident and a fiscal conservative. I have watched ReNae for almost two decades work to better our community and advance causes she believes in.”

Airhart said Adel’s Arnold “has the necessary work ethic and enthusiasm needed for the office. Professionally, she has the needed credentials when it comes to technology to carry on with the gains we have made in the office. I have confidence that from day one when she is sworn in, she will have the support and respect of the Recorder’s Office staff, she will manage the office in an effective and efficient manner and move the office forward; instead of taking us backwards.”

Airhart encourages his fellow Dallas County Republicans to join in supporting Arnold in the June 7 primary election and that all the voters of Dallas County will support her in November’s general election."

Officially on the Ballot!

March 7, 2022 - It's official!
Today was the first day that county candidates could turn in their nomination petitions. I will officially be on the ballot in three short months from today!
Thank you to everyone who signed my nomination papers, and thank you, once again, to everyone who is supporting me along this journey.

Employee Appreciation

March 4, 2022 - Today is National Employee Appreciation Day.
The employees of the Recorder’s office work so hard. They have decades of combined experience in that office. I hope they already know how much I appreciate them and their hard work and dedication. Through discussions I have had with them, it has been important to me that they know and understand my leadership style.
As Recorder, when making decisions, I would always have two groups in mind; 1. the employees of the Recorder’s office and 2. the taxpayers of Dallas County. We all know the workload in the Recorder’s office is going to increase more and more as time goes on. The Recorder, and how they lead the office, is going to play a critical role in productivity.
I can promise you that, as Recorder, I will become an employee of the office. My attendance record for the last 20 years is exemplary. That will not change once I become Recorder. For several years, I was “married” to my job. It has just been in the last few years that I realized the very important need for work/life balance. Employees should never have to choose between work and family. They should never feel guilty for taking personal time off. I have learned a lot in my career, and the importance of employee appreciation and its effect on productivity is just one of the many things I learned.
As the Recorder, the employees in the office would know they are appreciated and valued every single day, not just on National Employee Appreciation Day.
To those I work with in my career today and to the employees in the Recorder’s office whom I hope to work with starting in January - thank you for all you do; your hard work does not go unnoticed. I appreciate each one of you.

March 1, 2022 - Fun night at the watch party for Governor Reynolds’ response to the SOTU! Great to see many friends and supporters there!

Governor Reynolds' SOTU

February 23, 2022

One year ago today I announced my candidacy for Dallas County Recorder. This was not long after Chad Airhart announced he would not seek re-election. I am not one to sit around and think about something too long. I am driven. When I know I want something, I go after it.

When you put your name out there to run for office, it’s really crazy the things you hear about yourself. You can either have it upset you, or you can laugh and move on. Life is too short to do anything but laugh and move on. People who know me, KNOW me. They know I am a very hard worker. They know that I am experienced and dedicated. They know that I have a big heart and like to help people. They know I am a leader, not a follower. They know that I will roll up my sleeves, put my boots on, and do the hard work whenever and wherever I am needed (hence the picture I chose for this post).

You have just over 3 short months to get to know your candidates in the Primary. I cannot stress to you enough how important this is. You have great opportunities here in Dallas County to get to know who you will be voting for, especially at a county and state level. Please take advantage of those opportunities, whether in person or over social media.

My work history is solid.

I have always kept my personal finances in order, just as I will do with the taxpayer finances.

I am a problem-solver. I am used to working with teams to figure out solutions to issues that arise; listening to all sides and coming up with resolutions that are best for all.

I am used to making decisions daily that affect many people and have large dollar amounts tied to them.

I know technology. I have learned many computer systems over my career, usually self-taught. I use multiple systems throughout my work day.

I am EXPERIENCED. DEDICATED. HOMEGROWN. I cannot wait to be your next Dallas County Recorder.

Thank you for your support over the past year, I appreciate YOU.

February 10, 2022

I am honored and humbled to have the endorsement of Dallas County Attorney Chuck Sinnard. As I have attended the Board of Supervisor meetings (in addition to paying attention to local current events over the years), I have witnessed first hand how Chuck is looking out for the best interests of Dallas County. He upholds the law and keeps the county in check. We are lucky to have his integrity and expertise at the helm of all Dallas County legal matters. Chuck is a great mentor and I look forward to working with him.

Thank you, Chuck, for all you (and your office!) do for Dallas County. I appreciate you, and I appreciate your endorsement!

Caucus night and FOUR short months until the election!!

February 7, 2022
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in the caucuses tonight. Thank you to the DCGOP exec committee, to those who volunteered to be a site leader, caucus chair, caucus secretary, and to those who were kind enough to read my letter or who spoke up for me in their caucus. If you went to a caucus tonight - thank you for going and being involved in the process.
There are only 4 short months left until the Primary election on June 7. I am so thankful for all of the support and positive feedback I’ve received in this campaign. I look forward to the next four months - and beyond.

February 2, 2022

My husband, Dan, and I have been married for 18 years. We were set up on a date by his sister. Dan grew up in NW Iowa and then went to William Penn University, where he played football. Dan is an avid pheasant hunter, and I tag along when my schedule allows. He is an IT manager and has supported me in my career since the day we met. There have been many early mornings and late nights for me over the years. This was either due to meetings across several different time zones, me needing to be at the airport very early in the morning to catch a flight, or me working all hours of the day and night during the busy season.....which may have been months at a time. He supported me through all of that, all while building his own career and while helping raise our daughters.

Our oldest daughter is 12. If she weren’t so shy, she would be a great athlete at school. Instead, she shows us her skills at home. Basketball, soccer, and running are a few of her favorite sports. She is also our little artist; she definitely got her dad’s athletic and artistic abilities.

Our youngest is 9. She is also shy and will not do anything in front of people. We are hoping she will get over that and at least do school plays when she is in high school. She is very much an actress and wants us to have a family YouTube channel. She is very witty, just like her dad.

We love to travel as a family and our favorite vacation spots are the beaches of Florida and the mountains of Wyoming - with a stop in the Black Hills.

We have two dogs, GSP's, that you will find in the field every weekend during pheasant season.

We like to sit by the fire on the back patio and listen to music on nice Spring, Summer, and Fall nights.

We like to watch movies as a family, but if we aren't at the movie theater, chances are mom gets up and does laundry or cleans while the other three watch the movie because mom doesn't sit still very long.

We love to spend time with our extended family and friends, making priceless memories.

This is us in a nutshell. We are proud to be a part of the Dallas County community where I grew up, and where Dan and I decided we would settle and raise our family.

January 25, 2022

I am proud to have the endorsement of Dallas County Treasurer, Mitch Hambleton. I have known Mitch for many years. He served as the Chair of the Dallas County Republicans and I served with him as both Secretary and Treasurer. We spent hours upon hours volunteering our time for the county party and numerous candidates over the years. One of my favorite early memories of my involvement with the DCGOP is sitting down at the courthouse on election night with Mitch. We sat in the Auditor’s office and they would bring out results periodically. We would analyze the results and then call the candidates with updates and then the final results.

Thank you, Mitch, for your endorsement, and for your hard work and dedication to the citizens of Dallas County!

January 15, 2022 - I am proud and honored to have the endorsement of Iowa State Representative Carter Nordman!

I have had the privilege of knowing Carter for five years now, and it has been fun to see where his journey has taken him. I am proud of the work Carter is doing at the Capitol for Dallas County. He has only been there a short time and has already made a huge impact. I appreciate his willingness to serve us in the Legislature. He has been a great friend and mentor to me, and I look forward to seeing what is in his bright future!

Thank you, Representative Nordman, for your endorsement and your confidence in me!

Dallas County Sheriff endorses ReNae for Recorder

January 9, 2022 - Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. I have a great deal of respect for law enforcement and all they do for us. So many sacrifices - all too often thankless.

On this day, I am especially honored and proud to have the endorsement of Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard.

I was on the Dallas County Republican executive committee ~15 years ago when we had a special convention to elect our nominee for Sheriff. I remember counting those ballots in the hallway of a local school. Chad made an impact on a lot of people during that first election, and has continued to do so ever since. I am proud of the work he has done as our Sheriff.

Thank you, Sheriff Leonard, for your endorsement! Thank you to the Sheriff and all law enforcement officers for your endless sacrifices, hard work and dedication to the citizens and communities you watch over.

I am Experienced.

I have 20 years of experience in supply chain and logistics at an international company. I will use that business experience within the Recorder’s office to continue meeting the needs of the citizens of growing Dallas County.

I am Dedicated.

I am passionate about everything I do. I have dedicated myself to my career and will continue that trend in the Recorder’s office. I am a very hard worker and I put my heart and soul into everything I do.

I am Homegrown.

I am a lifelong resident of Dallas County. I knew I wanted to settle here after graduating from college. I have chosen to raise my family here and am proud to be a part of this community.

I am very excited to reveal my campaign logo!  I had a vision in my head of what I wanted it to look like, I drew it out, and a very good friend helped me turn my chicken scratches into the perfect logo!!!  It looks great on our shirts and other materials, and it's going to look even better on yard signs all over Dallas County next year!

We officially "kicked off" our campaign at the Adel Sweet Corn Festival on Saturday, August 14, 2021.  I couldn't think of a better way to reveal my logo than to do it in my hometown parade.  I am overwhelmed by the support; both from those walking with me and those along the parade route.  What makes this campaign great is YOU!!  Thank you!!

February 23, 2021

(ADEL) – On February 23, ReNae Arnold, of Adel, announced her candidacy for the office of Dallas County Recorder on the 2022 ballot. ReNae, a lifelong resident of Dallas County, has spent the last 20 years working in supply chain management and logistics. This has included production and operation activities, quality control, and the shipping of products both domestically and internationally. “With the experience, knowledge, and work ethic that I have acquired in the private sector over the past two decades, I am confident that I can serve the people of Dallas County to their highest expectations in the Recorder’s office,” said Arnold.
ReNae is a graduate of ADM High School and Iowa State University. She has been married to her husband, Dan, for 17 years and they have two daughters, ages 8 and 11.
Arnold, a fiscal conservative, pledges to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars within the Recorder’s office and continue to innovate the duties of the office for the sake of transparency and efficiency. Arnold would continue to grow the use of technology to better serve the community, and she would always be looking for new ways to streamline processes. “Dallas County is home. I have grown up in Dallas County, I am raising my family in Dallas County, and now I want to give back by serving Dallas County,” ReNae said. “It would be an honor to serve you at the courthouse as your next Dallas County Recorder.”
